Sitting here at my table with my can of Coke trying to keep my brain alive while I figure out how I want to write my documentary treatment and structure.

Am suppose to have this ready by Tuesday 5pm. And then present this to my lecturer (and his exective producers) at his company on Thursday morning like a real pitch. Gee I wonder why can’t we just present this in school.

After the last drama script, I’ve learnt that churning out ideas and writing the script itself is seriously tough work (especially when you have to cut out your “clever lines” ‘coz there’s not enough time for that. *sob*). But now I think documentary is even harder coz I can’t just make up stuff whenever I find a gap that needs to be filled. Everything has to be backed by Research. Research = headaches. Fiction = bullshit and make up stuff, makes brain happy. I prefer the latter. smiley

I guess the only parts I really like is the point where I finally find a great idea to start with, and the end point when the final product is completed. Everything in between is just a whole lot of brain trauma.

And there’s always the itch to actually realise the script into an actual video/show. smiley Which I think would be quite difficult right now. My drama needs good child actors, my documentary needs big ass budget to fly me to NYC. lol.

But it’d be so great. And I can always dream.

now, back to my work. smiley

p/s: how ironic that to take a break from writing the docu proposal, I come here to write on my blog, before getting back to writing more for the assignment. 0_o

I think this is quite funny.

little known furries

The drawing is just so cute. And those stupid biology words like pinocytosis just cracks me up. smiley

There’re more drawing available on the website called “toothpaste for dinner”. Not everything is funny, but some of it are not too bad. smiley

Was in school till 9+pm today doing that annoying audio editing, then realised that the shuttle bus stops service at 9pm. Darn.

So for the first time in as long as I can remember, I took a looong walk back to my hall on the other end of the campus. 30 whole minutes. I’m such a bum coz I haven’t walked ever since the shuttle bus service became free. But I actually kinda enjoyed it. Heh. Probably ’cause it’s been raining today and there was just a nice little breeze to accompany the long walk. And I like stepping on wet grass (minus the mud). But it’ll probably be a nicer walk back if I had someone’s company. smiley

Tomorrow will be our studio rehearsal for the final project. It’s gonna be exciting seeing the different parts coming together, although the video segment I’m working on hasn’t quite made the final cut yet, eecks. But it’ll probably be more exciting next week during the recording ’cause we’ll be having this group of dancers coming into the show as interviewees. Can’t remember the name, but I just saw their video and their dance seems pretty cool. And they are supposedly the ambassadors for those Heelies shoes (yeah they actually wear those for their dance), though I can’t quite recall anyone wearing heelies anymore (which is good, ’cause I’m sick of kids rolling across malls hazardously with their heelies). But studio is gonna be exciting, ’cause I’m just so sick of watching and listening to my video over and over for the 285th time. Anything different is good.

My nose is acting up again, getting stuffed and all. Which is a bad thing, ’cause I really need my sleep now, but I can’t sleep with a stuffed nose. I’m scared I’ll end up swallowing spiders if I sleep with my mouth open, breathing. smiley

I know it’s the middle of the week already, but…
Wish list for this week:

    ~ no more blocked nose
~ finally find a suitable original music for the damned video
    ~ no more editing!

After waiting for weeks, I finally got it. I’m going to be working for MTV Asia for my internship next year!! yay!

Well, MTV wasn’t my first choice, but hey, one offer out of 3 interviews is better than none. At least I got one of my choices and escaped Phase 2 and its stupid random computer selection.

No idea what show I’ll end up working on. Most probably will end up doing a lot of studio work rather than on-location shoots.

There were many reasons I wasn’t too thrilled with MTV Asia after the interview. Maybe the job didn’t seem as wide a range as it sounded on the description list we had earlier on. And a big corporation like this one will usually mean that it’s well-staffed and hence I might not learn as much as I might have with a smaller company that would teach me everything so that I do as much as everyone else in the office. But well, it is still a nice place I guess. Their office is pretty funky, and it feels laid back and relaxed. Plus, MTV is a big name, so it’s probably a good place to start networking for future. And there’s actually a pool table in the office! smiley

So, yeah, it’s not my first choice, but it isn’t all that bad either. smiley 6 months there should turn out to be quite exciting!
Though, the only thing I’d be dreading would be the travelling from campus to Orchard Road daily. 0_o Ghastly.

They really made my day…

Was feeling miserable for not being able to sleep properly the whole night as I was shuffling my feet back to my room after brushing my teeth. Then suddenly I realise there were 3 little brown balls of fur sitting on my doorstep.

And one of them was clawing at my broom.

Yup, 3 little kittens came visiting at my door this morning. They look identical, and so purfectly cute!

They’re hyperactive. Couldn’t stop jumping and running around.

One went to inspect my pails.

And as I was busy taking photos, 2 of them ran into my room and started playing under the bed and table, and refused to come out.

Managed to grab them from beneath and put them at the door again. Sorry, but if they came on a weekend I’d have more time to play with them. Plus, the aunty was telling me they will shit all over the place if I leave them in my room. So, oh well.

But I’m glad they came and made a surprise visit. I usually hear them meowing around the block, sometimes I see them running about, but never did see them hang around that long. smiley And I love cats. Wish I could have one as a pet next time. smiley

meowww…

Well, at least MY polar bear has stripes.

My darling finally got back from his business trip to the US, and he got me a teddy bear from San Francisco. Isn’t he cute? (the bear, I mean). smiley

polar stripes

He’s a jail bear! Escaped from Alcatraz it seems. With his chains and iron ball. I call him ‘polar’.

polar reject

Kena rejected for being too cute? That’s a crime? Awwww…. *hugs polar*

gigi the guard dog

Here’s Gigi the pug guard-dog, taking care of polar and making sure he doesn’t run away. smiley

Actually, that’s the second “polarbear” that I own. Here’s the first one, sans stripes.

polarbear

My new (ok, 2-half-month old) Dell Inspiron 700m! Small and sleek, just the way I like it. 12 inch wide screen. Weighs about 2kg I think ’cause I ordered an 8-cell battery instead of the usual 4-cell. 5 hours battery life!! wheee… comes with DVD writer, blablabla. lots of good stuff lah…

polarbear cover

Silvery and white, like the polarbear. Goes into hibernation everyday too, like the polarbear.

polarbear desktop

And here’s the cool desktop on polarbear. With the Bizarro alien as my recycle bin on the left corner. smiley

I love my polar bears!
