car hunting..
by tsewei
Yep.. went around to several showrooms to check out the new KIA Picanto with auyong and his mom yesterday afternoon.
Nope. I’m not getting a car, not me, not anytime soon. I wish though. Nope. It’s my darling who has his eyes on the cute Picanto. (gosh it’s so cute, even its name sounds like Pikachu. not that I particularly like Pikachu lah. But cute all the same.)

Anyhow, it was real dumb ’cause most of the showrooms we went to didn’t have anymore Picanto showroom units. bleah. So we couldn’t test drive the car. But we managed to check out a customer’s car in the Old Klang Road’s KIA branch. It was a blue one. No orange ones there. Damn. Orange’s better. (heck, subconsciously, i actually wore my only orange top out to car-hunt. haha.)
Since I’m not an expert on cars (ok, fine. I know nothing about cars, I can’t even drive them well), I am only going to gush about its aesthetic appeal. heehee. But seriously, it’s real cute, especially in orange! And the front of the car has this black thingy (yes, I’m sure it’s not called a ‘thingy’ but I don’t quite care right now) that makes it look all the cuter, like a lil’ cutesy animal.
[*ding!* brain wave: they should make a mini plush toy version of the car!! it’d be a cool marketing gimmick! =D]
Ok, I’ll stop all this nonsense ’cause I’m at risk of sounding like a bimbo. XD
But what’s surprising was that there’s a 12-month waiting list for the car! urgh.. :s ONE year to wait till you get the car you said you bought?!?! gosh.. And what’s worse is, it appears that many of these people made their bookings without even going for a test drive with the car!! I mean, how can you decide if you haven’t tried it out?!?!
That, just completely baffles me.
But it was fun, car-hunting and all. Didn’t get to do this the other time when my dad bought his Naza Ria (’cause it was semester time and I was 300km away, and till today, I still don’t get to drive that MPV!) Hmm, hehe, can’t wait when I get to shop for my own car, weeeeell, in like, MANY more years to come…
But first, finish off my 2 and half years of uni, 3 more years of work in Singapore, then head back to KL to buy cheaper cars! wahahahahaha!

OCBC & UOB raising their fees! ack!
by tsewei
ACK! It seems that OCBC and UOB in Singapore are going to raise the fees for their low-yielding accounts, starting from Jan 1, 2005!! =S
Since I’m not blessed with a healthy fat account all the time, I was of course affected as I am one of OCBC’s “low-yielding accounts”.. sigh..
Apparently, OCBC in Singapore has raised the minimum monthly average savings for Passbook Savings to S$1000! That’s DOUBLE that of the S$500 minimum balance set last time!!!
gosh!! Where am I going to find so much money to stash in the bank every month just so they won’t charge me S$2 just for being poor??!!?!?!?! This is not fair! I’m just a pathetic student with no money! sigh..
Anyway, if you have accounts with OCBC and/or UOB in Singapore, you might wanna find out more about what the extra charges that will be incurred or other revised minimum balances. Quite a number of changes will take place soon, so better make plans to not overspend for Christmas or something. (oops. too late for me now.
) Here’s the news article from Straits Times on 23 Dec.

KTM rawks…
by tsewei
.. NOT! bleah…
Took the KTM night train service back to KL last night and I was suppose to arrive at KL Sentral by 6.30am. At about 6.00am, I woke up all bleary-eyed, and saw that I was passing a station. Excited that I’m finally gonna be home, I sat up and looked out of the window. To my horror, the station’s sign said “Tampin” — the station which the train was supposed to have passed by TWO hours ago!
Bloody hell, just when I thought KTM has finally bucked up and improved their service by arriving on time for the past few train rides I’ve taken.. Again, they’ve disappointed me. Ended up getting stuck on the train for another 2 plus hours, and arrived in KL Sentral at close to 9am. Damn. And all the while I was freezing away no thanks to the crazy air conditioning. What were they trying to do? Preserve us like frozen meat, izzit? bleah.
So, I got bored, and ended up yakking on the phone. Then, took a photo with my phone when the train stopped (again) at Kajang station.

Sigh. Just hate wasting my precious time freezing away on the train. It didn’t help that I didn’t have time to grab a good book with me this time round. Stupid KTMB!! bleah!
okie. This is my rant for the day. I’m done.

first blog entry!
by tsewei
Yup. Finally, I now have a blog of my own! All thanks, of course, to auyong for helping me set this up. *smiles* And to all of you reading this: Welcome! :)
6.30pm on a Friday night. My MSN nick says: “Homeward bound. ” :)
It’s about three hours more till the KTM train takes off from Tanjong Pagar railway station, and in less than twelve hours I’ll be in KL Sentral! yay! I can’t wait. The trip home to KL always perks me up and makes the day all the happier for me.
I always like to watch the view along the Straits when the train crosses over from Singapore to JB. If it’s early morning, then there’s always the long queues of bus kilangs, and row upon rows of motorcyclists and cars along the causeway. You can almost smell the exhaust fumes from the traffic haha. Sometimes it’s raining and you can see the raindrops falling onto the sea (ok, straits, not much of a sea anyway). At night, then you’ll see the lights of the buildings off the JB coast, dancing in the reflection on the water. Nothing great really, same old stuff all the time when I travel, but it feels just nice. Guess I just miss home, that’s all.
Alrightey, shall go pack my luggage. Nothing much to pack, since I’ll be back in Singapore on Tuesday for my hall’s jam band performance. My throat’s a bit sore from so much singing these few days, bleah, I better get my dose of honey before leaving my room later.
Homeward bound. Wheeeeeeee~
Lalalala. *hums to self, flits around the room, and starts packing for the journey later.*
