I hate it when I get that question for interviews.

I hate having to brag about myself, but it’s not as confusing as trying to tell people your weaknesses and negative points without making yourself sound too lousy.

I end up saying things like “I like to make sure my work is done well but I am too much of a perfectionist sometimes”, and then try to justify the weaknesses I pointed out by saying things like ” so now I always make sure I keep (insert choice of weakness here) in check to make sure it does not hinder me from performing my best”. Which, in my opinion, sounds just real blah. But I really couldn’t figure out what else to say. :S

Oh well, that was it for today’s interview. Did not go as well as I had hoped, but oh well. At least the one on Monday with SCRIBE went a little better. Maybe ’cause they didn’t ask me THAT question. smiley haha. Now, there’s just one more interview to go for my Round 1 of internship allocation — tomorrow’s interview with MTV Asia. Sure hope I get an offer, otherwise it’ll be real sad to get thrown into Round 2 and let some faceless machine (computer) allocate me randomly. But I guess I am lucky — I got all the interviews that I was hoping for. smiley

Can’t wait for my internship actually. I think it’s really going to be fun! And for a full semester some more! yay…

It is definitely going to be more work than school, what with working overtime being the norm with production work. But at least I don’t have to attend lectures and write stupid essays that really aren’t necessary. I’d much rather be out there working on a location shoot or editing a real drama or commercial or whatever. I never understood why we were always given so much papers to write when practical hands-on work is obviously the most effective way of learning for this field. Maybe it’s just cause we’re a university and serious boring academic shit is expected of us so that we can differentiate ourselves from the more technically-inclined (and skillful) polytechnics offering the same course. whatever ler.

Ok, I think my showreel DVD is finally done burning. Now I can get out of this freezing broadcast practicum room. And go de-frost my fingers. smiley
